Are you sick of all the marketing, ads and hype online? Been told promises about new leads coming in, millionaires being made online and if you just did this “one thing” you could scale your business?

How about feel like every web guy, marketing company or ads specialist is out to get you and will never return your calls after they fail?

What about the assumption of - if you build it they will come when it comes to your online business?

Let me ask you, when you walk into a business - meet the person trying to sell you something and the first thing they try to do is sell you what they “think” you need - do you end up buying from them?

Or what about the person you meet face to face that takes 1 minute and asks you “What are you interested in today?” Ever have that happen? I’m assuming this is a rarity and something you have’t come across much.

My wife and I recently moved and were looking for a new gym to work out at. We looked up on Google the nearest gym to us so we could go check it out. We pulled into the parking lot and headed towards the door. We noticed the sales guy jump up from his chair as we went to open the door. He asked us, “hey how can I help you today?” I spoke up and said, “we just moved to the area and wanted to…” I was almost done letting him know “exactly” what we wanted as he lifted his finger and started walking to his desk. He says “I’ll grab you the class schedule” in which I stopped him half way and said “we don’t do classes” to my surprise he mentioned, oh I’ll grab it for you anyway just in case. I’ll end the story right there - we didn’t signup at that gym…

Mistake #1 - He didn’t create an instant relationship, he didn’t shake our hands and didn’t introduce himself, he had one mission - get us into one of the classes.
Potential - He could have introduced himself, asked where we moved and tied that in with a story or something he’s experienced in the area. Think about if he knew something that struck my interest about where I just moved or something I could relate to so that he could have strengthen a non existent relationship into something I cared about?

Mistake #2 - He never asked “why” we were there or “what” we were interested in, even worse he assumed we wanted something that we didn’t want at all. He was so focused on what “he” wanted to sell instead of taking a minute to find out exactly what we were looking for.
Potential - When someone meets you face to face or online you need to be asking what their goals are, what they’re looking for and find out exactly what their pain points are. This is called empathy, and by showing a potential customer you care about what they want, your business will change forever.

This is the exact reason I created Relationship Marketing, and to tell you the truth I had no idea it would work this well. Not specifically for me but for business owners and entrepreneurs like yourself that we work with in our agency.
