Create Website Google Ads To Increase Lead Generation.

Anyone who's worked with Google Ads probably already knows that they want you to learn from your mistakes: if you repeatedly submit an ad with the same mistake, you may just end up banned entirely .

It's worth mentioning that Google almost never lifts account bans.

Before you do anything, it's important to review the latest guidelines and policies from Google to ensure that this doesn't happen to you. The best techniques are the legal ones that follow Google's policies, because if you get banned for using tactics that try to cheat the system, you certainly won't be getting those leads.

Here are some advanced techniques for Google Ads that stay in line with Google's policies but will still help you generate more leads .

Create a Google-Friendly Landing Page

The landing page that will be receiving the traffic from Google Ads needs to be a well-designed, high-quality page. Here are some tips for ensuring that Google will like your landing page:

1. Create a good user experience – Your landing page should be easy for visitors to use, and it should definitely not be misleading. This means avoiding clickbait titles, for one, and making all relevant information clearly accessible. Google's guidelines state that these pages should be useful, relevant, and contain original content. Make sure it's easy to navigate: people shouldn't have to search all over the place to find the info they're looking for or what their next steps are. It should be easy for them to find the information about the advertised product.

2. Include contact info – Google also looks for contact info on your landing page. Include an email address, phone number, and other contact information. If you don't already have a business number, you can get a Google number or a Skype number to use so that you don't have to put your personal number on the landing page.

3. Make sure it loads fast – It's very important that your landing page loads quickly, so be sure to optimize it with loading speeds in mind, and don't use pop ups at all.

4. Terms and conditions – Another important thing that Google looks at is your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Make sure that both of these are clearly visible on your landing page.

We help our clients, such as Sivia Law , create and test custom landing pages that meet Google's expectations and get better conversion rates from visitors. We've seen increases of over 20% when we test new pages for our clients.

Especially for clients like Sivia Law and others who offer a variety of services, custom landing pages are very useful for targeting one specific service. They're fast and easy to set up, and their performance can be clearly tested and improved upon quickly.

Understand AdWords Policies

Google can be strict and confusing with their guidelines , so it's very important to take the time to read and fully understand all of them before you submit your landing page and your ads. We'll go over some major points here, but be sure to go through them yourself as well.

There are four basic things in these policies that you need to pay attention to as you develop your landing page and your ads:

1. Prohibited Content – This includes, but is not limited to, dangerous products or services, counterfeit goods, anything that enables dishonest behavior, and inappropriate content. For more information about what these categories include, see the policy page, which is linked below.

2. Prohibited Practices – The full policies provide more detail on these, but they include abusing the ad network, certain data collection and use, and misrepresentation. Be sure to understand the policies clearly to ensure that you are not violating them.

3. Restricted Content – This includes pornography and adult content, alcohol, copyrighted material, gambling and gaming, healthcare and medicine, financial cervices, political content, trademarks, legal requirements, and other restricted businesses. Again, see the full policies for details.

4. Editorial and Technical – There are specific editorial standards in place, along with destination (landing page) requirements, and technical requirements that you can learn about in the Google AdWords policies.

Along with following all of these policies, you'll also need to be sure to follow the proper formatting for your ads.

You can learn everything you need to know on Google's policies page. Be sure to review it occasionally for any updated information, so that you can continue to meet all the requirements and avoid violating any rules.

Google Grant accounts also must follow certain guidelines, and we work with several leading not-for-profit organizations, (The Fred Hollows Foundation, Victor Chang & NAPCAN, among others) to help manage their Google Grant accounts.

The grant guidelines have recently become more strict about the keywords and locations that these clients can target, and we work with them to make sure that their accounts are always up to date, so that they can continue to see success with their campaigns.

Optimize for Mobile Devices

Most people use their phones and tablets for a lot of their online activity these days. Mobile devices are in higher demand than desktops, especially for web searches . If your ad isn't optimized for mobile viewing, you won't get the results you're looking for.

In order to capitalize on mobile traffic, you'll need to set up your ads for optimized mobile PPC targeting. One important aspect of this is the “click to call” CTA button. That is often the best way to capture a lead from a mobile user. The goal is to provide the easiest path into your sales funnel that you possibly can.

If you don't pay attention to mobile search, you're throwing leads away left and right. There are lots of ways to run a creative mobile ad campaign, but at the very least, you need to make sure that you're mobile-friendly.

Keep your information brief and well-written, and create separate desktop/PC campaigns and mobile campaigns, so that you'll be able to view the data on each and see how they're working for you.

Finally, ensure that your landing page is also optimized for mobile viewing. You don't want to lose a lead because you sent them to a desktop page that has too much information and requires zooming to read.

Understand and Improve Your Quality Score

In Google AdWords, you have a Quality Score that ranges from 1-10 and covers each keyword in your account. This score is an estimate of the overall quality of your ads and landing pages for a given keyword. It compares your page to the other pages that are also under the same keyword.

The higher your Quality Score, the more relevant and useful Google believes your ad and landing page to be. A high Quality Score is ideal. You can learn how to check and improve your Quality Score in the Google Support files. It's important to keep track of your score and make changes that will improve it so that you get the best results from your ads.

We've helped one of our clients, for several years, and we've helped them improve their Quality Scores on important campaigns by over 30%.

Even a modest increase in Quality Score can add up to thousands of dollars in savings in an ultra-competitive market. Our client has been able to use this saved money to reinvest in additional advertising and other endeavors.
