Brad Smith • September 26, 2025

 Key Takeaways:

  • Generate 250+ website visitors and 55 clicks from AI search optimization
  • Use ChatGPT and Perplexity to research what your audience is actually searching for
  • Create strategic content across YouTube, blogs, Reddit, and LinkedIn for maximum AI visibility
  • Track website visitors to convert AI search traffic into leads and sales
  • Follow a proven system that delivers real traffic, conversions, and measurable results

I'm Brad Smith, owner of Automation Links, and I've been doing this marketing stuff for 10 years, working with over 200 brands. My videos may be boring, but you're going to learn something and I hope you implement it and actually get results. Today I'm breaking down exactly how we're getting visitors from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and all the AI search tools to our website and actually converting them.

I have a real-world example from a partner that we work with on how they're getting 250 new searches, 55 clicks, and 250+ website visitors every single month from AI search optimization. We don't just talk theory - we're showing real traffic, real conversions, and a real partner case study using AI SEO.

Why AI Search (ChatGPT & Perplexity) Matters Right Now

  • Key Point: AI search tools are pulling from specific sources: Reddit, YouTube, Bing, Google, and your blog
  • How It Works: Create strategic content and ensure it's linked in these high-authority spots
  • Time to See Results: Immediate visibility once content is indexed and distributed
  • Tools Needed: AI SEO research tools, website tracking software, content creation platforms

When you start looking at sources from AI search results, they start pulling from the top Reddit, YouTube, Bing, Google, and your blog. So if you want to actually show up in these search results, that's what you got to do. You got to create content and make sure it's linked in these spots.

Let me show you exactly how this works with a real example. When I search for "Zoom Info alternatives" in ChatGPT, at the top of the search results comes a YouTube video from Data Shopper's company. Then when I ask "what's the best retargeting tool that tracks website visitors?" ChatGPT gives me examples, and Data Shopper is one of them. You can see that it's pulling traffic and resources from their website, and then it's pulling from their Reddit posts where people are talking about them.

Step 1: Using ChatGPT to Research What People Search

The first thing you want to do is research your website and discover what your audience is actually searching for. Here's my exact process:

Use AI SEO Tools for FAQ Research:

  • Click over on AI SEO in your research tool
  • Click on the FAQs generated
  • Research your website by throwing your website URL in the top
  • Start seeing what people are actually searching in Google that you should be creating content about

You'll see questions like "what services do they offer," "what makes it different than competitors," and it's actually going to give you search topic ideas for what people are searching and how many searches it averages per month. You want to find topics that are super relevant to exactly what your business means.

For example, with our Data Shopper partner, we discovered people are searching for "Zoom Info alternatives" - so that's exactly what we created content about.

ChatGPT Research Strategy:

  • Ask "what's the best [your service category] that [specific benefit]?"
  • Follow up with "how much does it cost?"
  • Ask "where are your sources?" to see what platforms AI is pulling from
  • Use these insights to create your content strategy

Step 2: Creating YouTube Content That AI Will Reference

Once you know what people are searching for, create a YouTube video about it. Here's what works:

YouTube Optimization for AI Search:

  • Create videos addressing the specific questions you discovered
  • Fill out your description with all the content you want to show up for
  • If somebody searches in AI, you want this video to show up and be referenced
  • You can be on podcasts, make your own videos, but make sure the description is comprehensive

You can see in our example that the YouTube video is ranking at the top of Google search for "Zoom Info alternatives." What it is, it's basically just a podcast they were on, but the key is coming down to the description and making sure you fill this description out with all the content you want to show up for.

Step 3: Creating and Distributing Blog Content

From there, what you want to do is actually create a blog post. Here's my process:

Blog Creation and Distribution:

  1. Create a blog post about your topic
  2. Add your YouTube video to the top of that blog
  3. Index it with Google and Bing
  4. Give some quick Q&As and FAQs
  5. Index your YouTube video within the blog
  6. Write comprehensive content covering the topic

Multi-Platform Distribution Strategy:

  • Go post it on Reddit
  • Publish on Medium
  • Share that article everywhere

Now when people are coming to ChatGPT and they're looking for your company or your service category, you're showing up at the top. But you got to do your research first using automation tools to see exactly what those people are searching for, how many searches per month, what those FAQs are, and you need to get it indexed on your page.

For more comprehensive content creation strategies, see how to create AI content that converts.

Step 4: Tracking and Converting Website Visitors

Of course, you want to use something like Data Shopper to track your results. That's going to show you how many people have been on your site, exactly what pages they've been on, and then exactly who they are, so you can reach out.

What You Can Track:

  • How many website visitors are tracked that have been on your website
  • Which pages they went to convert
  • Where they came from (organic, Google, YouTube, Twitter, reference sites)
  • Visitor identification for outreach

Here's a quick sneak peek of my results: a couple visitors in the last week. I can see exactly where they came from - organic, Google, YouTube, Twitter, and reference sites from somebody else. Then you can head over to your website and actually build out these audiences.

Audience Building Strategy:

  • Put competitor websites in to build audiences
  • Target these records with ads or through email
  • Even send direct postcards if you want
  • Convert AI search traffic into qualified leads

Real Results: The 250 Visitor Case Study

Let me break down the real numbers from our partner case study:

Monthly Results from AI Search Optimization:

  • 250 new searches generated
  • 55 clicks to website
  • 250+ website visitors
  • Real traffic, real conversions, real partner results

This isn't theory - these are actual results from implementing this exact AI search optimization system. The key is being strategic about where you're getting this content, how you're placing it, and what's actually going to show up in AI search results.

Your Implementation Plan: What to Do Next

So what about you? How are you going to implement this? Here's exactly what I recommend:

Step-by-Step Implementation:

  1. Research Phase: Find exactly what your ideal customers are searching for on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google
  2. Content Creation: Create a good YouTube video about that topic
  3. Blog Development: Publish a comprehensive blog post
  4. Distribution: Put it on Reddit and other platforms
  5. Tracking: Monitor results and visitor behavior

You're going to start getting more visitors, more leads, and like we did, more customers all from these AI searches.
