In the digital era of today, having a website is one of the most important decisions you will ever make for your business. Despite the emphasized importance, most business owners don't take this seriously. The design and ambiance of your website speaks for your business as this is the first touchpoint with which customers are going to interact with.

On top of that, your website should be optimized for search engines in such a way that it has maximum visibility when people search for your business. Here we are going to discuss some ways in which you can make a great website complements your business.

1. Work on your marketing techniques

You must reflect on your business model and decide which marketing technique best works for you. There is a lot to choose from and you must make the decision wisely. SEO , pay per click, Social media marketing, Public Relations and Word of Mouth are some of the many which you can use. Each marketing strategy is designed to serve a specific purpose and delivers a certain output so you should be through with your research.

Some of the most successful businesses we work with have chosen just one marketing channel. It's hard enough growing a business, and most of the time we get overwhelmed with all the marketing channels we think we MUST implement. Choose one, grow it, be patient and you'll see amazing results.

2. Specify your Target Audience

This is the most important part as your website needs to take into account the needs of your customers and it must be tailored to fulfill them. You must do your market research, decide which customer base best serves you and then design your website according to that. Your website should be such that when a customer visits it he doesn't have to navigate a lot, the website should automatically take them to what they are looking for.

We have a Get Started Button all around our website leading to one form, our start here form. It's our one funnel, one action you need to take and we've perfected it. Instead of trying to create multiple offers, services and guide for customers try and focus on just one. That way once you have one, you can create automated followup series to help increase signups.

3. Your website should have all the necessary information

Customers usually visit a website to figure out what kind of services the business provides, what do they cost, will I benefit from them, who to contact for further information, and where is the business located, etc. Your website should be such that it answers all of these queries without having the customer to actually ask for them. When they experience this kind of convenience they will likely be impressed and will want to buy your services.

We use our blogs and articles to answer common questions and concerns our potential customers have. This allows us to create content to bring value to people we haven't even met yet. If you provide value and help potential customers they will turn to you when they're ready to buy.

4. Have a “call to action”

When your visitors have navigated thoroughly on your website they would be thinking about where to go from here. This is where you have to apply the concept of the customer funnel. This implies that you insert a call to action. It can be an option to buy your product right away, add it to cart, contact you for placing an order or submit their email for future offers. This is necessary if you want your website to serve its purpose of converting visitors into customers.

Most websites are confusing and don't have a clear map for the customer to follow. This is why Sales Funnels have become so popular because it takes the visitor by the hand and only allows them to go to one place on the page. We turn websites into sales funnels by clearing confusion, addressing their pain points and giving them clear call to actions.

5. Follow up

Most visitors don't immediately convert to customers. You need to be persistent and convince them by presenting them with compelling offers. You can do this by tracking their navigation behavior on your website and then using this to identify which product(s) they are most interested in. Then send them offers for these products on a regular basis. This will allow you to keep in touch with them and at the same time, it will increase the chances of them being converted into customers.

You can follow up with emails, Facebook Messenger and even staying top of mind on social media. This goes along with our Relationship Marketing Framework where we not only directly reach out to leads but we also stay top of mind using social media channels.
